The Spot Family Center Receives Funding
The Spot Family Center, has received funding from Kids Central, Inc. and the Department of Children and Families for local students to receive scholarships for its 2013-2014 After School Enrichment Program which serves students in grades K-7th during the after school hours of 3pm-6pm. The Spot has 10 scholarships remaining.
These scholarships are available to local families who meet the qualifications. Applications can be picked up at the headquarters located at 405 S.E. 7th Ave., Crystal River. Scholarships will be given to students on a first come, first served basis. Any family receiving free or reduced lunch automatically qualifies.
The scholarships will offer students in K-7th grade; Academic Tutoring, Nutritional Education and Homework Assistance, as well as Outdoor Recreational Activities, Arts & Crafts, Computer Tech Labs, Reading Teams, Mentorship and Leadership Skills.
Space is limited! The program runs the entire school year, Mondays–Fridays from 3pm-6pm. On scheduled early dismissal days, the hours will be 12:30-6pm. Bus transportation from Crystal River Primary and Middle School is available to The Spot.
COME BY AND PICK-UP AN APPLICATION. APPLICATIONS MUST BE COMPLETED AND RETURNED WITH PROOF OF FREE or REDUCED LUNCH TO THE SPOT FAMILY CENTER.
