Diana Brown is a retired independent educational consultant and has resided in Clermont, Florida for over 60 years. She has two sons, one who works in St. Augustine as a manager of a construction company and the other who lives in NYC and is a political consultant. She enjoys spending time with her granddaughter when time and distance allow it!
She has presented professional development for educators on many different topics including literacy, Common Core Standards, Coaching Connections, Classroom Management, and many other pedagogical teaching strategies. Diana served on various revision teams for the American Federation of Teachers and Catapult Learning. She created professional development manuals in the area of reading instruction for K-12 teachers.
Diana obtained her B. A. degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education and a M.Ed. in Exceptional Student Education from the University of Central Florida. She is certified in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Reading K-12, and Exceptional Student Education K-12.
Prior to retiring from the Lake County school system in 2011, Diana taught at the elementary and secondary levels for 16 years. She served at the district level as Director of Lake County’s Effective Teaching Center for an additional ten years. She worked with both public and private sector schools in the area of quality teaching and learning for over 40 years, including her work at the district level in Title I and professional development. Her experience in professional development at the local, state, and national levels has enabled her to assume many leadership positions. She has presented at national conferences such as ASCD and NSDC (now Learning Forward). She has received local, state, and national recognition for her work and has authored articles published in two professional publications within the areas of Invitational Education and quality professional development. She has received local and national awards for her work in the area of professional learning.
Diana is looking forward to serving on the Kids Central Inc. Advisory Board.
