Bobby James holds a Master’s Degree in Supervision and Administration and a Bachelor of Science in History, Health and Physical education. He is a retired educator and principal. He has worked in the capacity of teacher, coach, Dean and Assistant Principal during his career. He was appointed to the Marion County School Board in 2007 and elected to the school board in 2008 where he has served as Chairman for 3 terms.
Bobby James is married and has a son that serves as a teacher in public education in Alachua County. He is a member of the Central Church of Christ in Ocala, Florida. His interests are in school safety; accountability and fiscal responsibility; open communication between school, parents and community; and quality education for all. He is a member of the National Association of Secondary School Principals and Florida Association of Student Councils.
Bobby James has been involved with Take Stock in Children, YMCA of Marion County, Leadership Ocala Youth Board, Marion County Boys and Girls Club, Marion
County Public Education Foundation, Childhood Development Board, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Kiwanis Club of Ocala and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. Also served on the Kid Central Board from August of 2009 through June of 2017 and then joined again as of September 2019.
