At Kids Central, we’re proud to be part of a major modernization led by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF): the transition to the new Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS).
This initiative will replace the aging Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN) with a modern, federally compliant platform targeted for September 2026. The new system is designed with staff in mind by providing mobile tools for our team in the field, advanced analytics to track outcomes, and self-service portals that give parents access to information in their case.
These improvements will help us reduce redundant work, coordinate better with partners, and achieve stronger results in safety, permanency, and family well-being.
To prepare for this important change, a dedicated group of our colleagues spent July 13–17 in Palmetto, FL for CCWIS training. These team members generously gave their time away from their own families so they can return as knowledgeable resources, ready to train and support the rest of us through the transition. Their commitment reflects the heart of Kids Central. We are deeply grateful to each of them and to our DCF training partners in Tampa for their leadership and partnership.
